Punjab Assembly through a unanimous resolution on Thursday appreciated Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for her struggle for the cause of democracy in the country. The Assembly showed its qualm on the outcome of her murder case and wanted an early decision of it.

Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on the occasion appreciated Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for her services to the nation and the democracy. In another resolution presented in the house during the day, legislators asked for a flat rate for tube-wells to safeguard Punjab farmer, whom in resolution it was mentioned, would suffer, if this rate was not introduced.

In a day of legislation there were seven bills passed for women empowerment. Sardar Kaisar Abbas Parliamentary Secretary Revenue & Colonies answered queries on the occasion. In a resolution put forward by MPA Sh Allaudin, he asked for inclusion of clause of being free from Thalassemia, introduced in 'Nikah Nama' of a person.

In a day of legislation, besides laying of reports, The Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation (Second Amendment) Bill 2012, The Punjab Land Revenue (Amendment ) Bill 2012, The Punjab Protection against the Harassment of Women at the Workplace (Amendment) Bill 2012, The Punjab Partition of Immovable Property Bill 2012, The Women University Multan (Amendment) Bill 2012, The Government College Women University, Faisalabad Bill 2012, The Government College Women University, Sialkot Bill 2012, The Government College Women University, Bahawalpur Bill 2012, The Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (Amendment) Bill 2012 and The Punjab Motion Pictures (Amendment) Bill 2012 were passed in the House on the occasion.

In the session four bills were introduced and sent to relevant committees for further deliberation by the Chair Rana Mashhood. The bills were 'The Punjab Public Service Commission (Second Amendment Bill 2012, The Punjab Boilers and Pressure Vessels (Amendment) Bill 2012, The Lahore Garrison University Bill 2012, and The Punjab Local Government (Fifth Amendment) Bill 2012.

In a query on Revenue & Colonies Department Parliamentary Secretary answering a query of MPA Hassan Murtaza said the total area of Chiniot was 650,891 acres. He averred that in 1969 Chiniot had become 36th district of Punjab, adding that in Chiniot there were 100 Patwaris, three Tehsildars, six Naib Tehsildars. The House was later adjourned by the chair for Friday (today).
